Whole Foods Market

My first “real” job out of college was Store Graphic Artist at Whole Foods Market - South Street in Philadelphia. As the in-house chalkboard artist and graphic designer, I was encouraged to get a little wild, bringing individual flair and personality to our store, all while maintaining a sense of consistency with the brand.

Working closely with the Regional Marketer, I served the Team Leaders and Store Team Leaders by overseeing all in-store visual elements, including chalkboard illustrations, seasonal department decor, and promotional price signage. I worked closely with external vendors and contractors to create themed physical structures, like our holiday table and Valentine’s Day floral wrapping station. Additional duties involved in-house large format printing, designing and applying vinyls, and building window installations. I was asked to train new Mid-Atlantic Store Artists and invited to support new store openings alongside the regional team.

I most loved exploring new, often weird, and always fun ways to create 3D, digital, and illustrated works for our internal promotions and external events. Drawing dogs on chalkboards will never not be the coolest job.

There’s more to see!
